The 31st European Film Festival Palić – Announcement of Events for the Second Day

On the second day of the festival, Sunday, July 21, the Summer Stage in Palić will feature the Official Selection program, beginning at 9 p.m. with the screening of "Light Fades" by Phedon Papamichael, this year's laureate of the Aleksandar Lifka Award in the category of foreign artists. Following this, at 11 p.m., the film "The Magnet Man" by Gust Van den Berghe will be screened. Meanwhile, at the Abazija Cinema in Palić, the Parallels and Encounters section will present “Tiny Lights” by Beata Parkanová at 6 p.m. and “Forever–forever” by Anna Buryachkova at 8 p.m. In the "Mira Banjac" Hall of the Abazija Cinema, as part of the Galicia in Focus program, “The Rim” by Alberto Gracia will be shown at 7 p.m. In the New Hungarian Film section, the film “Without Air” by Katalin Moldovai will be screened at the Eurocinema in Subotica at 7 p.m. The first film in the Eco Dox program is “Holding up the Sky” by Pieter Van Eecke, which will be shown at the Lifka Art Cinema in Subotica at 5 p.m. It will be followed by “April in France” by David Boaretto at 7 p.m. as part of the New European Documentary Film program. Special screenings will include the segment "On Screen - Discover Europe with Film and Football," showcasing short films and starting at 4 p.m. in the "Mira Banjac" Hall of the Abazija Cinema, followed by a short panel discussion. The Young Spirit of Europe program at the Abazija Cinema will include screenings of "Land of Mountains" by Olga Kosanović, "Uploaded Memories" by Igor M. Toholj, "Her Dress for the Final" by Martina Meštrović, and "The Lovers of Avignon" by Manuel Fernández Ferro. In the festival’s accompanying program, the "Seven Caricatures for the Seventh Art" exhibition from the Milenko Kosanović Gallery of Contemporary Caricatures, will be opened at the Abazija Cinema at 4:30 p.m. A talk with Anica Dobra, winner of the Aleksandar Lifka Award in the category of domestic creators, is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Grand Terrace in Palić. At 11 p.m., the Abazija Cinema will host a festival party with a performance by the band Matatas. Tickets for the Official Selection program are priced at 300 dinars for a one-day pass covering two films. They can be purchased at the Summer Stage box office from July 20 to 26, 2024, starting at 8:00 p.m. In case of bad weather, films from the competition program will be shown at the Eurocinema (Open University of Subotica, 15 Tzar Jovana Nenad Square) at the scheduled times. Tickets for the Parallels and Encounters program are 200 dinars for two films and can be purchased at the Abazija Cinema box office in Palić half an hour before the screening starts. Admission to all other festival screenings is free!
