The exhibition "Traces of a Time: Film Poster 1970-1979", prepared by the Serbian Film Center, contains 41 film posters made in the period from 1970 to 1979, kept in the fund and archives of the Serbian Film Center. The exhibition was premiered in April, May and June in the KCB Film Gallery, i.e. in the Cultural Center Hall, and in the coming months it will tour cities throughout Serbia.

The exhibition presents posters made for popular war spectacles, such as Stipe Delic's "Sutjeska", Zika Mitrovic's "Uzice Republic", Hajrudin Krvavac's "Partisan Squadron", as well as poster for "Walter Defends Sarajevo", also directed by Krvavac, the most watched Yugoslav film, which is the culmination of "Yugo-western" genre. The selection also included posters for the films "Red Strike" (Predrag Golubović), "Duel for the Southern Railway" (Zdravko Velimirović), "Occupation in 26 Pictures" (Lordan Zafranović), "Traitors and War Criminals" (Stole Janković) , and also posters for “Knockout” (Boro Drašković), “The Love Life of Budimir Trajković” (Dejan Karaklajić), “The Man Who Should Be Killed” (Veljko Bulajić)…

Dr. Jovan Cekic's text, written for the exhibition catalog, states, among other things: "The establishment of mass culture in Yugoslavia began in the 1970s, while the first film, music, sports and television stars were profiled,". He adds: "If in the beginning it is a predominantly symbolic capital, with the approach of mass entertainment to the media standards of the West, the first outlines of celebrity culture begin to be clearly outlined. At that moment, new movie stars and celebrities from various registers of mass culture were preparing the ground for future capitalists of the economy of attention.”

Artistic approach combines minimal graphical procedure and the faces of popular actors can be seen on posters clearly, like in films "Yellow" (Vladimir Tadej), "Burdush" (Mića Popović), "Pavilion 6" (Lucian Pintilie)… Some solutions bring only drawing bravura while remaining minimal as is the case with "Beasts" (Živko Nikolić), "Death and the Dervish " (Zdravko Velimirović) or "Bugs in the Head" (Miša Radivojević).

It is planned for the exhibition "Traces of a Time: Film Poster 1970-1979" to visit other Serbian cities after Belgrade, just as was the case with the exhibition "Traces of a Time: Film Poster 1945-1970".
