In this documentary, we meet artist Petar Meseldžija – painter, writer, illustrator, and a man on the border of worlds: at once a native of Novi Sad and a cosmopolitan, both a master and an improviser. We sneak up on his hand as he paints, absorb his words, and envision the worlds he metaphorically reveals. His work blurs the boundaries between inner and outer, real and fantastical, familiar and ineffable. For more than three decades, he has lived and worked in the Netherlands, yet he regularly returns to Novi Sad and Krčedin – for a fresh sprig of memory and a spark of the warm south to carry back to the chilly north. After the loss of his wife, Meseldžija seeks to rekindle his creative fire. The film is an intimate portrait of an artist in search of light after grief. Back to...
