Karlovci Film Festival is a film festival that takes place every year, starting in 2018, in Sremski Karlovci. After more than twenty years without a cinema hall, a group of young people, mostly students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, is organizing the first festival of its kind in Karlovci with about 1,500 visitors and a repertoire spread over three days. From 2019, the audience has the opportunity to enjoy foreign productions, both short and feature films, in addition to domestic ones. As part of its activities, the Festival has also created a competitive section, in order to include all the segments needed for a festival like this to find its place both in Serbia and in Europe. The introduction of the international short film section was one of the mandatory steps on that path, and applications can be found on the popular Film Freeway website since last year. Also, the festival presents awards to film authors, actors, directors and other film workers for special merits and contribution to the development of the seventh art in our country.

In addition to films, the Festival program consists of film and acting workshops for the youngest, i.e. lectures by eminent experts from the world of the seventh art. Since this year, the Festival has been awarding a prize for cinematography in the short film category. This year’s edition of the Festival takes place in the period from August 11 to 13 at several locations in Sremski Karlovci.

As part of the festival program, two films will be screened at the Abazija cinema on July 18 at 9 p.m.: I JUST WANT TO BE FOUND (directed by Lazar Vranić, Serbia 2023); DAYS LOST (directed by Jovana Avramović, Serbia 2021)
