The Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier and Only Human by Igor Ivanov tomorrow on the program of the European Film Festival Palić

On the third day of the Festival, on Monday, July 19, at the Summer Stage in Palić, the Main Competition Program presents films The Worst Person in the World by Norwegian director Joachim Trier at 9 pm, and Only Human ,out of competition, by Macedonian director Igor Ivanov at 11 pm.

The Worst Person in the World chronicles four years in the life of Julie who is turning 30 and who navigates the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path, leading her to take a realistic look at who she really is. This is third film in Trier’s Oslo trilogy, following Reprise and Oslo, August 31st. Only Human stages six profiles in six interwoven sequences. This is a drama story featuring desperate characters in their quest for survival and love, or redemption.

In Parallels and Encounters program, film Fury by Petar Ristovski (17:00) has its world premiere at the Abazija cinema in Palić, and later in the evening the repertoire includes The Spring Poem by Natalija Avramović (17:30) and Ravine by Krasznahorkai Balázs (19h).

The main protagonist of the homonymous film, Fury returns to the past, to the futuristic, insensitive environment that sinned against her when she was a little girl. In search of her torturers, she cuts holes in her memory and, as an extended hand of Justice, punishes the responsible. The Spring Poem follows Petra, a young single mother, who, after divorce and her father's death, tries to free herself and live her life in spite of everyone, looking for the right one. Ravine tells a story about Hungarian obstetrician and soon-to-be father Balint, who must return to his native village in Maramures, Romania at Easter, and face the son he abandoned 17 years ago.

As a part of this year's Underground Spirit Award homage program for Romanian producer Ada Solomon, Festival presents Tony Erdman directed by Maren Ada, former Oscar nominee for best film outside the English-speaking world and five-time winner of the 2016 European Film Awards. The screening is scheduled for 9 pm at the Abazija cinema in Palić.

Slovenia in Focus program presents short film The Bull by Bojan Labović at the Eurocinema in Subotica at 5 pm, and then a feature film Don't Forget to Breathe by Martin Turk. The film tells a story of Fifteen-year-old Klemen whose well-established routine of spending time with his beloved brother on the tennis court and by the nearby river gets interrupted by Peter's sudden and passionate love affair with his gorgeous peer Sonja, which triggers a torrent of conflicting emotions and reckless actions in Klemen.

As a part of the New Hungarian Film section, the Eurocinema in Subotica at 7 pm screens Seven small coincidences directed by Gothár Péter, which focuses on Gertrude, a middle-aged music teacher saturated with family life with her husband and teenage son. Her life turns upside down when she meets her former student, the beautiful Alban.

Section New European Documentaries, at 7 pm at the Art Cinema Lifka in Subotica, presents A New Shift by Czech director Jindřich Andrš, about a miner who is in the process of retraining for a computer programmer after a coal mine he worked at was closed. At the same location, from 5 pm, Eco Dox program presents films Birds of America by French director Jacques Loeuille, and from 6:25 pm, Metaplasm: the Vulture File by Nemanja Babić. Screenings of 10 short films from the Young Spirit of Europe program start at 10 pm at the Abazija cinema in Palić.
