SAŠA RADOJEVIĆ: Today we have absolutely fascinating texts about film on the Internet

On the fourth day of the festival, on Tuesday, September 15, the main competition program – Official Selection, screened films HOPE by Norwegian director Marie Sødahl and the Polish-Swedish film SWEAT by Magnus Von Horn. In the Parallels and Encounters program, the repertoire included films FORGOTTEN by Ukrainian director Darja Onishchenko and FREM by Slovak director Vjera Cakaniova.

Film Critics Workshop was also took place at the festival, with the support of Serbian Film Center, aimed for young film critics who periodically publish their reviews in local and international magazines. One of the workshop’s mentors is the director and screenwriter Saša Radojević, who commented this year's participants: "The workshop participants come from Novi Sad, Belgrade and Mostar. These are young people who are directly connected to film, some have already finished their film schools, and there are also those who are not directly related to it. This is an opportunity for different knowledge to intersect and for us to point out possible approaches and analyzes of film, and on the other hand to hear from new generations what is important for their vision of filmmaking, at this moment. "

Regarding the state of film criticism in today's media and on the Internet, Radojević noted: "We are witnessing a paradox when it comes to film criticism. The fact is that it has lost its place and space within the key media - large daily newspapers or television stations. But on the other hand, on certain platforms and in certain analyzes that are written in different institutions or faculties, you have absolutely fascinating texts about film. You have never been able to read better analyzes of movies than on the Internet. It is a kind of satisfaction and substitute for what is related to the perception of the film in public opinion ", concluded Radojević.

Snježana Mitrović, a representative of Terra's and the Open University Subotica, spoke at the conference about the panel discussion "Women's Entrepreneurship and Covid 19" organized within the side-program of the festival: "Open University has, by the introduction of Eco Dox in the festival program and by founding regional Arhus center, decided that the debate program should put environmental protection on its agenda. This panel discussion thrilled me because we ended it very optimistically”. Describing the content of the panel, Mitrović pointed out: "The emphasis was on two women entrepreneurs, one of whom is engaged in organic production. She said that her greatest wealth is that she saved her family. Another entrepreneur pointed out that the daughters are taking over the business and that the property is no longer left only to the men. Both emphasized the family, and that this crisis awakened unity for all of them."

On the sixth day of the festival, on Thursday, September 17, in the EuroCinema, film PINOCCHIO by Italian director Mateo Garrone will be shown in the Main Competition Program at 8 pm, and film 18% GRAY by Bulgarian director Victor Chuchkov at 10 pm. In the Parallels and Encounters program, at 7:30 pm in the Abazia Cinema, the repertoire includes PARTHENON by Lithuanian director Mantas Kvedaravičius, while at 9:30 pm, TOMORROW IS STILL JULY directed by Dejan Vlaisavljević Nikt.
