Monograph on winners of „Aleksandar Lifka“ award

On the 20 anniversary of the Festival we are going to present monograph „Touch of Eternity“ on winners of prestigious award „Aleksandar Lifka“, that has been assigned by EFF Palić since 2000 to splendors from Europe and Serbia for exceptional contribution to European cinema.

List of the winners testify that it is about artists who became part of their national, European and world's cinema anthology. Not only did they get the greatest national and international awards but they also enriched art of film and designed its history by their specific author's touch, experimenting with film as a media and revealing alternative worldview. Among winners there are directors, writers, actors, composers...

The author of this significant monograph, printed in two languages (Serbian and English), is film critic Nebojša Popović. The monograph is going to be presented at the Festival and the publisher is EFF Palić.

„The goal of the monograph is to remind us all on most important moments of the Aleksandar Lifka laureates' opuses. It's been easy and nice and at the same time quite difficult since there are so much data and it's not easy to sum up all the things that ought to be said about authors and their work on several pages. Further on, some of Aleksandar Lifka laureates' masterworks are rarely screened. Monograph's intention is to remind on these works and to point to a wise decision of the Festival to save some of the greatest achievements of European and world cinema from oblivion “, said Nebojša Popović.

By honoring the winners, the Festival has experienced the honor itself.
Fact that 23 of 26 laureates personally received the Award supports this. Being at Palić they left a trace that is going to be perpetuated in the monograph as photos and interviews made by excellent team of journalists, professionally engaged on Festival Newspaper.
