"Have You Seen this Woman" winner of the Association of Serbian Film Festivals’ (AFIFS) Award for the best Serbian film

The film "Have you seen this woman?" directed by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević is this year's winner of the Association of Serbian Film Festivals (AFIFS) Award for the best Serbian film. "Snow and the Bear" by Turkish director Selçen Ergun, with Serbian producers Miloš Ivanović and Andrijana Sofranić Šućur (Set Sail Films), was declared the Best Film in Serbian Minority Co-production. The decision was made by the Serbian National Section of the International Federation of Critics (FIPRESCI).

The awards for these two films were presented on July 18, at the 30 th Palić European Film Festival, by the Association of Serbian Film Festivals - AFIFS, which consists of seven film festivals in Serbia: the Palić European Film Festival, the Film Screenplay Festival (Vrnjačka Banja), the Festival of Actors' Achievements - Film Meetings (Niš), Leskovac Film Directing International Festival - LIFFE, Author's Film Festival (Belgrade), Šumadija International Debut Films’ Film Festival (Kragujevac) and Moving Image Festival (Novi Sad).

Božidar Zečević, president of the National Section of FIPRESCI Serbia, presented the award for the Best Serbian film to producer Čarna Vučinić, who bowed to the audience together with the directors of the award-winning film, Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević. Miloš Ivanović and Andrijana Sofranić Šućur received the award for the Best Serbian Minority Co-production.

The film "Have you seen this woman?" directed by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević premiered last year at the Venice Film Festival, as part of the official competition program "Critics' Week" (Settimana Internazionale della Critica). It won the Best Director Award at the Bangkok World Film Festival and the Critics Award for Best Film at the 24 th International Independent Film Festival "Black Movie" in Geneva. Through three different lives, the film follows the story of a middle-aged woman who tries to break out of her skin, says the synopsis of this production.

The film "Snow and the Bear" by Turkish director Selçen Ergun had its world premiere at last year's 47 th Toronto Film Festival (TIFF), one of the most prestigious and relevant in the world. It won the award for the Best Debut film at the 2022 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and it was screened at festivals all around the world. "In this small town, where bats were the biggest problem for the police, the sudden disappearance of a man creates a commotion. Step by step, Asli finds herself in the midst of a whirlwind of power relations, secrets and suspicions", says the sinopsis.
