Film Critics’ Workshop is for the first time organized within EFF Palić, with an aim to make the Festival a place of film critics’, editors’ and journalists’ gathering, in order to deliver their knowledge, experience and advice to their younger colleagues from the region. The result of the efforts is this year’s Film Critics’ Workshop, the most significant Festival’s additional program, concerning its duration and the scope.
The Workshop lasts 4 days, from 19 to 22 July, 2015, with 5 attendants – young film critics from the region, who have an opportunity to cooperate with columnists, critics and editors of influential European and international Magazines.
Workshop lecturers are Carmen Gray ‐ London/Berlin. Ex Dazed & Confused magazine film section editor, independent critic of The Guardian, Screen International, Sight & Sound, The Calvert Journal etc. Tristan Priimagi ‐ Estonia. Sirp, art and culture magazine, film section editor.
Guest lecturers are Neil Young (Hollywood Reporter, Sight & Sound, Indie Wire etc.), Michael Pattison (Sight & Sound, Senses of Cinema, MUBI, Indie Wire) and Vladan Petković (Screen International, Cineuropa)
The Workshop aims to help attendants gain journalistic and critics’ skills trough group and individual work with their lecturers, and to experience film festival activities directly. This way we wish to strengthen young critics’ self-confidence in their future work and positioning in the regional and global film industry scene.
