Završena radionica filmske kritike

Film Critics’ Workshop was organized for the first time within EFF Palić, with an aim to make the Festival a place of film critics’, editors’ and journalists’ gathering, in order to deliver their knowledge, experience and advice to their younger colleagues from the region. The workshop lasted four days, from 19th to 22nd July, during which five participants, young film critics from the region had the opportunity to work with associates, critics and editors of influential European and international magazines. Lecturers were Carmen Gray from London, former film editor of the magazine „Dazed & Confused“ and an independent critic who writes for „The Guardian“, „Screen International“, „Sight & Sound“, „The Calvert Journal“, along with Tristan Priimagi from Estonia, film editor of the magazine for art and culture „Sirp“, a member of the critics’ jury of the Parallels and Encounters programme in one of the past festivals. Others who transmitted their knowledge and experience to young journalists and researchers were Neil Young („Hollywood Reporter“, „Sight & Sound“, „Indie Wire“) and Michael Pattison („Sight & Sound“, „Senses of Cinema“, MUBI, „Indie wire „). The aim of the workshop was for the participants to gain journalistic and film critic skills through group and individual work with lecturers, and to experience the film festival from „up close“. Also, the festival wants to contribute to the strengthening of self-confidence in the work of these young film critics and to an easier coping in the local and global film industry.
